You may collect your beach hut key from the Information Centre on Shore Road from 10:00 hours (09:00 hours on Saturdays & Sundays). Please return the key by 22:00 hours at the end of the hire period, to the Information Centre reception, or when closed, through the letterbox by the front door. Weekly hire periods generally run from Saturday to Friday.

When collecting your beach hut key, please provide valid I.D. and proof of address of the person whose name is on the booking form.

All Shore Road beach huts have wide doors and allow access for wheelchair users. There are 5 huts (numbers 15 to 19) which have even wider doors and a lower countertop for increased accessibility. In addition we have 6 'Premium' Huts which are larger and have double doors. Upper Level Huts 1-14 can only be accessed via steps, but Upper Level Huts 36 to 48 can be accessed on the level from Victoria Avenue behind the small ice cream kiosk, as well as via steps. Spa and Spa Retreat beach huts can be accessed from various different points via a small number of steps from the corner of Victoria Avenue / Shore Road, and also De Moulham Road, or via a fairly steep path with a few steps from Shore Road.

• Upper level - Premium - 5, 10 step access, 40 & 45 includes sloped access (larger huts with two doors)

Shore Road beach huts come with the following:

• 5 chairs and a coffee table (6 chairs for premium huts)
• Worktop and shelving
• Electric sockets and light
• Upper level huts come with 2 stools and a balcony table (except huts 1, 14, 36 & 48 which only have the 2 stools)
• Dustpan/brush and broom

Spa beach huts come with the following:

• 4 chairs and a coffee table 
• Drop-leaf table and shelving
• Electric socket
• Dustpan/brush and broom

Spa Retreat beach huts come with the following:

• 4 chairs and a coffee table 
• Worktop and shelving
• Electric sockets 
• Cushioned storage bench with scatter cushions
• Dustpan/brush and broom
• Doormat

Additional chairs, tables and parasols can be hired from the Swanage Information Centre.

Drinking water taps and public conveniences are located adjacent to the Shore Road beach huts. The only day that these specific toilet facilities are closed, are on Christmas Day.

Cold water showers are free to use and are located adjacent to the Shore Road beach huts, outside the public conveniences.

The nearest public conveniences for the Spa and Spa Retreat beach huts are at Battlegate, along Shore Road, and the closest drinking water tap is on Sandpit field (just 2 minutes walk from these huts).

Part of Shore Road (from The Mowlem to Victoria Avenue junction) is currently closed all year round to traffic, (except for some service/delivery vehicles) so it can be a safe environment for children and families.

Discounts of up to 25% are available for the following specific period bookings for 2026/27.

Shore Huts

• Annual 20% discount: 28 March 2026 to 26 March 2027 (52 weeks) - Shore huts only (note that Shore huts are restricted to a maximum of 15 huts for annual bookings)
• Winter 25% discount: 31 October 2026 to 26 March 2027 (21 weeks) - Shore huts only

Spa Retreats Huts

• Annual 25% discount: 28 March 2026 to 26 March 2027 (52 weeks)
• Summer 25% discount: 28 March 2026 to 30 October 2026 (31 weeks)

Spa Huts

• Summer 20% discount: 28 March 2026 to 30 October 2026 (31 weeks)

All huts are subject to availability.

The price of a beach hut varies depending on the type of beach hut and the time of the year.

Upper-level standard beach huts are the cheapest and lower-level premium beach huts are the most expensive.

Bookings are weekly from Saturday to Friday

The following booking procedure was used for 2026/27.

Bookings are strongly encouraged using this website, although we do also take bookings over the phone on 01929 766018.

Please note that for all beach hut bookings for Christmas through to the New Year, restrictions apply and you are asked to contact the Swanage Information Centre for more information if you are interested in booking this period. 

This online booking system only allows weekly bookings from Saturday to Friday and therefore does not accept DAILY beach hut bookings.
Daily rentals can usually be booked ‘on the day’ subject to availability and at the Managers discretion, over the telephone or in person at the Swanage Information Centre.

The Spa and Spa Retreat beach hut bookings for the 2026-27 season will be released as follows:

• Tuesday 17th February 2026: 10.00am for bookings of 52 weeks (Spa Retreats only)
• Wednesday 18th February 2026: 10.00am for bookings of 31 weeks (see dates)
• Thursday 19th February 2026: 10.00am for bookings of 1+ weeks 

Please note that the Spa beach huts close at the end of October 2026 for the winter period. The Spa Retreats remain open all year.

Our cancellation policy allows for a refund to be given if the cancellation request is provided more than 30 days before the start of the booking date.  In these cases an administrative fee of £30.00 or 20% of the total booking fee, whichever is the greater is charged. If a change of booking is required, the same administrative fee is applied.
