Shore Road beach huts come with the following:

Other information

Additional chairs, tables and parasols can be hired from the Swanage Information Centre.

Drinking water taps and public conveniences are located adjacent to the Shore Road beach huts. The only day that these specific toilet facilities are closed, are on Christmas Day.

Cold water showers are free to use and are located adjacent to the Shore Road beach huts, outside the public conveniences.

The nearest public conveniences for the Spa and Spa Retreat beach huts are at Battlegate, along Shore Road, and the closest drinking water tap is on Sandpit field (just 2 minutes walk from these huts).

Part of Shore Road (from The Mowlem to Victoria Avenue junction) is currently closed all year round to traffic, (except for some service/delivery vehicles) so it can be a safe environment for children and families.

Beach hut keys can be collected from 10:00 hours (09:00 hours on Saturdays & Sundays) and returned by 22:00 hours at the end of the hire period. Hire periods generally run from Saturday to Friday.

All Shore Road beach huts have wide doors and allow access for wheelchair users. There are 5 huts (numbers 15 to 19) which have even wider doors and a lower countertop for increased accessibility. In addition we have 6 'Premium' Huts which are larger and have double doors. Upper Level Huts 1-14 can only be accessed via steps, but Upper Level Huts 36 to 48 can be accessed on the level from Victoria Avenue behind the small ice cream kiosk, as well as via steps. Spa and Spa Retreat beach huts can be accessed from various different points via a small number of steps from the corner of Victoria Avenue / Shore Road, and also De Moulham Road, or via a fairly steep path with a few steps from Shore Road.

Shore Road Beach huts are available to hire online for longer periods of time for a discount. The dates of hire and discount are fixed to the following dates:

• 01/04/23 - 12/05/23 (6 weeks) - up to 15%
• 13/05/23 - 14/07/23 (9 weeks) - up to 15%
• 16/09/23 - 29/03/24 (28 weeks) - up to 50%
• 28/10/23 - 29/03/24(22 weeks) - up to 50%
• 18/11/23- 29/03/24 (19 weeks) - up to 50%
• 09/12/23 - 29/03/24 (16 weeks) - up to 50%
• 20/01/24 - 29/03/24 (10 weeks) - up to 50%
• 01/04/23 - 29/03/24 (52 weeks) - up to 50%

The price of a beach hut varies depending on the type of beach hut and the time of the year.

Upper-level standard beach huts are the cheapest and lower-level premium beach huts are the most expensive.

Bookings are weekly from Saturday to Friday

The following tariffs are priced weekly and relate to the cheapest huts available.

• 31/08/24 - 20/09/24 - prices from £77

Our cancellation policy allows for a refund to be given if the cancellation request is provided more than 30 days before the start of the booking date.  In these cases an administrative fee of £20.00 or 15% of the total booking fee, whichever is the greater, is charged. For new bookings made from 1st October 2023 this has been amended to £30.00 or 20% of the total booking fee, whichever is the greater. If a change of booking is required, the same administrative fee is applied.

Beach huts bookings for the period of 29th March 2025 to 27th March 2026 will be available from October 2024. A reminder email will be sent to all beach hut customers beforehand. All the information about how to make a booking will be included within the email and will also be on this webpage and social media.

This online booking system only allows weekly bookings. Generally we mostly take weekly bookings. However there are times when daily beach hut bookings may be available, (usually within the current week), when we have not been able to hire out a full week. Any decision to release beach huts for daily bookings will be at the managers discretion. If you are looking for a booking between 1 day and 6 days please review the availability calendar and if you can see an appropriate date within the current availability please contact the Swanage Information Centre on 01929 766018. Please note that during the off-peak season when prices are at their lowest, beach hut daily bookings are for a minimum of 2 consecutive days.

Bookings for the Spa and Spa Retreat beach huts will open at the following times:

• Tuesday 27th February from 10.00am - For continuous periods from 10 to 52 weeks
• Wednesday 28th February from 10.00am - For continuous periods from 4 to 52 weeks
• Thursday 29th February from 10.00am - For continuous periods from 1 to 52 weeks

Available booking periods are as follows:

• Spa beach huts: Saturday 30^th March 2024 through to Friday 1^st November 2024
• Spa Retreat beach huts: Saturday 30^th March 2024 through to Friday 28^th March 2025.

It is recommended that you book online due to very high demand, however we do take bookings either in person or on the phone at the Swanage Information Centre.
